Is there any way to start a design in Simulink and proceed to circuit and board design using Multisim and Ultiboard?
Has anyone done this?

I was trying to answer this question (from the Linkedin Mechatronics discussion group:
My best answer was this:
Multisim, which is now a National Instruments product, is a good choice.
I am assuming you want to work at the circuit level. Granting this assumption, you can do the Control System design directly in Multisim. Then do circuit capture into their Ultiboard Printed Circuit Board Design.
Alternatively one can use their LabVIEW system as the platform for a higher level design. This option permits importing Simulink solutions.
I had been envisioning this approach Simulink->Multisim->Ultiboard-> PCB., which I had thought possible, till checked the NI documentation to understand how this would go. The best one could manage would be to take the Simulink output, and more-or-less manually convert this to a circuit designed in Multisim. I think a Simulink->Multisim link would find a market.
