Student Needs help with Autoroute Please

Hello folks,

I'm a college student who has no education in this program. But I'm working on a tech thesis that requires a board. I'v created one and transfered to utiliboard 10, moved everything around and now I'm stuck at Autoroute. I'v tried adjusting the tracewidth from 20 to 15. I'v tried going gridless. I have to print on a single sided board. So that pretty much means I can't use layers. I'll use jumpers if necessary. But since its a school project. I'd like to keep it minimal. (Going to be the front of a panelbox through plexiglass for a triconex/Fire and gas cart as a simulation board. The other board came out fine) If theres anybody that can throw me a bone here to help me out. Any advise or work would be greatly appreciated. What might take 2 seconds for you could save me hours. Anything at all folks.

I had to create a component (for an LED strip) so if it don't transfer with the main file, I can upload that too. I'v already spent too much time on this part of the project. So, unfortunately, I have to ask for help.

Thank-you 🙂

Hi,

I looked into your design and I dont believe you will be able to route all of it on the copper top layer alone. I tried to modify several things to try it out but you can see the two attachments. Generally, you should have the capability to have traces on the bottom layer as well.

The file mod1 has been autorouted with only one layer whereas the mod2 has been autorouted with both top and bottom.

Hope this helps.

Special thanks for Tayyab R! Your a life saver. I was talking to my teacher who has the CNC machine and he said to use copper layers 1 and 2. I was at it all last night and today.. got within 318 of 323 and could not for the life of me get it to work. Dieing of the flu... and You have no idea how happy you've made me. Simply saying thank-you is not enough. I'll be sure to add your name as a thank-you reference, and place your name on the board. If theres anything you want for your troubles, please let me know. You seriously saved me. Tech has to be finalized friday. I still have the software to go through. (Pretty simple ladder logic though). I'll post a picture when its finalized. Thank-you EVER SO MUCH!

D'oh trace width has to be 20... 8 will burn up the board apparently. Thank-you for your efforts though. Gives me something better to work with then what I had.

Having two inner layers like your teacher suggested makes routing much easier. I kept your original trace lengths and clearances and ran the autorouter. File is attached.
