I am unclear on why you needed to update because 343 is the latest version and there has been no updates since unless you were updating to 343.
Anyway, The only solution I can come up with at the moment is to try and re-install it.
Can you tell me if your version was on a disk or did you download it from the web. If it came on a disk, then let me know so I can give you a possible solution to try. If you downloaded your version from the web then my option won't work (at least I don't know if it would work).

Hi Dejan,
1. You can fix the toolbar problem by deleting your current config file and this will reset your toolbars back to default. Close Ultiboard down and navigate to the following path:
C:\Users\Your login\App Data\Roaming\National Instruments\Circuit Design Suite\10.0\config delete the .ewcfg file in this folder.
2. The second problem is a little harder to fix but here is a suggestion that may help. Select Options>>Global Preferences>>PCB Design and uncheck the “show copper area”.

I do not have Vista so I cannot say if what your seeing is related to it, but I would have to say that a memeory management problem would cause any software to run slowly or erratically. I would venture a guess that Ultiboard on large projects would be quite hungry for memory especially when it tries to autoroute.
I have had instances of stutterring from it. I wouldn't call it freezing as much as an extremely long pauses after it does a task like autorouting and then goes to update the main screen.
You could try disabling all background software including virus protection software, etc. There is usally a lot of "junk" that windows loads on start-up (at least on my XP anyway). If you get rid of the ones that aren't critical to system operation through the task manager it may free up more resources for Ultiboard.
I don't know if any of this helps, but this is all I know since I don't have Vista on my system (I use XP).
