A steady increase in I/O other and page faults

1.
The I/O other item in windows task manager increases steadily when a loop is running in teststand 4.0.   Why?  And the page faults also increases.

I use Teststand 4.0 ,labview 8.2.1 and windows xp sp2.

Hi,

Its a bit difficuilt to tell without knowing that is happening in your loop.

What are you calling in your loop?

Maybe post a small example highlighting the problem.

Both of these numbers are only going to increase.  This is normal.  I/O Other measures how many I/O operations you execute to devices other than the console.  Page faults tell you how many times you try to access memory that was not immediately in memory and had to be loaded from disk.

For more information about these items, see here:

Also note that TestStand records result information for most steps unless you specify otherwise. Thus, even an empty loop will continually consume memory, causing page faults and the associated I/O.  You can selectively turn off result collection for any particular step, or for a whole sequence.

Thanks.  After  I turn off result collection for any particular step, The seqedit.exe consumes little memory and  0 page faults. I think it is ok.
