Grouping Custom Types

Hi everyone,

I'm fairly new to TestStand and I had a quick question about custom types and how to organize them to be less cumbersome when there are tons of them. I have an application that generates a TestStand types ini file which create tons of necessary TestStand types. The problem occurs when I go into my sequence file to create a type of one of the custom types. There are hundreds of them. I know I can click the first letter to goto the custom type that starts with that, but is there a better way? How can I pick the type I need if it's in the middle of that huge list of custom types?

Thanks for any help/ advice!

I've given up hope Smiley Sad Even looked at the Full Fledged UI, but AxVariablesView doesn't expose the context menu, so I wasn't able to even create sub categories for them. Oh well, maybe a future version of TestStand will support this kind of categorizing/organization with lots of custom types.

You should Kudo the idea exchange post about this:

I should also mention that TestStand 2019 introduced QuickDrop, which should provide a more searchable way to do drop variables than the context menu.
