Property loader without full (office) installation?

I am bound to use excel format files with property loader. But the machines that i deploy on will not have full M$ Office installed.

Is there any work around, e.g to just install the excel engine that is required? or other solution?

you could try downloading the excel reader from mircosoft.

No that doesnt work unfortunately.

TS still stops with an error 'Unable to launch Excel 97 through its automation interface'

well you are left with two options.

 install excel on you system

or

switch to a text format.

Hmm.

Cant swiych to text, as there are equations & variables in the excel propery file.

I was looking for the 'Excel 97 automation interface' as a separate dowload but i guess it doesnt exist.

you could save as a csv file format from you excel worksheet which means you dont need excel for your property loader to read it.
