At the time of finalizing our software and documentation for TestStand 2014 SP1, we were not sure of when Visual Studio 2015 would release, so there is no reference to Visual Studio 2015 in our release notes. Testing was performed with TestStand 2014 SP1 and Visual Studio 2015.
1) There are no known runtime problems with TestStand 2014 SP1 calling into a C/C++ DLL or a .NET assembly created by Visual Studio 2015.
2) The only edi-time issue known with TestStand 2014 SP1 and Visual Studio 2015 is CAR ID 556654, which occurs when performing a step into operations from TestStand to a Visual Studio module using the .NET or C/C++ DLL Adapters. The operation fails with the prompt:
"The Step Into operation failed for the following reasons: 'Failed to step into 'Function'. Could not fine DIA CLSID for this version of Visual Studio.' Execution will continue as if you did a Step Over operation."
NI is targeting a general "f" patch for TestStand 2014 SP1 in Q1 2016 and a fix for this edit-time issue should be included.
