TS2012 - No execution window at "run selected tests"

Hello,

i am using TS2012 together with LV2012 on a Windows-7 64bit system.

Problem:

When i manually select one or more tests and rightclick to select "run selected tests" then normally there opens a new tab that show the execution an pass/fail of these steps.

But: Sometimes this new tab is not shown and  the tests are executed.

What can i do that is tab is always shown?

I looks for me like a timing-problem. When clicking to fast then its not working.

Is there a workaround?

(Currently no patches/updates are installed)

Thanks for help

Some questions since I am not able to reproduce this problem:

1) Are you doing this from a sequence file window or execution window (i.e. at a break point)?

2) When this happens is the execution document created and perhaps just not the active document (can you look for the tab for the new execution document)?

3) Can you reproduce this with simple empty expression steps, or only with certain steps in your sequence?

Thanks for any info,

-Doug

This happens in the normal sequence-file-window. Nothing with breakpoints.

2) When this happens is the execution document created and perhaps just not the active document (can you look for the tab for the new execution document)?

There is 100% no new tab created. But the title of teststand say "running", because of this i found out that i clicked correct. At the first few executions i thought that i clicked wrong.

3) Can you reproduce this with simple empty expression steps, or only with certain steps in your sequence?

It just happens from time to time. I cant reproduce it manually. It happened with all teststeps no matter if i only select one step or more steps at the same time.

Thanks

Some news about this behaviour:

It seems as it happens only once per Teststand-Start. This is how i can reproduce it here:

1. I start TS and open my sequence-file

2. I select some steps and "rightclick+RunSelectedSteps"

3. Now a new tab is opened and the test-results are displayed

4. Then i switch back to the sequence-file-tab (the result-tab is still visible)

5. The steps are still selected and i "rightclick+RunSelectedSteps" again

6. NOW the result-tab closes but the steps are executing (what is shown by the "running"-text in teststand-title

7. All next "rightclick+RunSelectedSteps" are normally and the closing of result-tab does not happen again.

Any ideas someone?

Hello OnlyOne,

i have tried to reproduce this with TS 2012 on Win 7 32 Bit system,

but it worked like expected, after starting the selected steps TS always

switch to the execution tab and shows the execution and the result.

One additional question are you testing in TS or in a custom user interface?

Attached the sequence.

No need to test for you with labview.

I tried your attached sequence-file and have the same error with it: The second "RunSelectedSteps" does close the result tab 😞

Do you have any updates installed for TS?
