I had to downgrade to TestStand 1.0.1 due to tester configuration and after uninstalling TS 3.1 I installed 1.0.1 and now it will not start. I receive the following error: An error occurred in the 'Login' step of the 'LoginLogout' sequence in 'FrontEndCallbacks.Seq'. Unknown error. User defined error code. Error Code; -2147287038.

Kendrick,
What OS are you trying to install TS 1.0.1 on? Because of its age, it may not be compatible with XP/vista/7.

Hello Kyle,
Thanks for resonding!
I have successfully installed on a couple of XP machines. This one is also XP, but the computer is newer.
I tried uninstalling all National products then completely cleaning out the registry of all remnants of National Instruments, Labview, Teststand and even a couple of seqedit references. Then reinstall, same error.
THANKS

Have you tried running the version switcher (it probably doesn't come with 1.0.1, but does come with 3.1)? Also what do you mean exactly with login error code? Is this a runtime error? Are there any more details in the error message?

Yep, no version switcher in 1.0.1.
It happens when I launch the sequence editor.
Never gets to the login pop-up. (see attachment)
Does that error code (-2147287038) mean anything?
Thanks
Kendrick

I meant that if you install a newer version of TestStand, then the version switcher it installs should allow you to version switch to 1.0.1.
It's not a TestStand error code. It's from the OS. An unexpected error is happening in that dll. Did you try deleting everything in the 1.0.1 directory before re-installing? Visual Studio says that that error code means "%1 could not be found. ". It might be some system or runtime dlls that are missing.

I'm not surprised that it is pointing to the OS.
Could it be security?
These computers are locked down pretty tight, although I do have administrator rights.
Does TS need to write to a file first that might be in a protected location on my computer?
I'll try re-installing 3.1 and see if I can switch to 1.0.1.
I've tried un-installing, deleting everything, cleaning the registry...
THANKS
