deploying teststandV3 - dcom98 error on target

Ray,

I read over the log, unfortunately it doesn't list which directory is causing the error! I think we need to try to reproduce it here.

Ray,

The only way I was able to reproduce the problem was by running the Template MSI directly. When I copied it to the Deployment Utility folder and built a deployment, I was able to install on the Windows 98 Machine.

Hi Rick,

Just re-read your initial answer to Rash.

Just to confirm, the file 'DKTemplateEN.msi' has to be placed in TestStand\Components\NI\Tools\Deployment Utility\distkit\redist before the building of the installer?

During the creation of the installer is 'DKTemplateEN.msi' modified?

Yes that is correct.

Yes, DKTemplateEN.msi is a template for the installer. It will not designed to be runnable without the deployment utility processing it. During the processing the deployment utility will add your test files and possibly the TestStand engine to the installer.

That's where I am going wrong, I just copied it after generating installer files.

I'll do it properly this time and let you know the result, which will probably ok.
