list of test step names

I need to be able to automate generating a list of test step names in a sequences including subseqeunce step names as well.

Is there a way doing this?

You can easily do that by using TestStand API. See example attached (TS 4.2)

thanks a lot. Now I just need to add the steps to log the test names in sequence layers than just flat list.

You may find the Sequence File Documentation tool helpful in this case (Tools»Sequence File Documentation...) or the Sequence File Hierarchy feature (View»Sequence File»Display File Hierarchy).
