Firewall issue when installing software on PXI RT system

Hello,

 

I am trying to Add/Remove software on a new PXIe-8822 system running RT Linux. When I do Add/Remove software on the RT system from NI Max, I get the following message:

I don't have admin privileges on the host Windows machine, so I am getting assistance from our IT support. They tried to open the 9100 port for TCP in both the Inbound and Outbound directions. It appears that the firewall also permits NI RT Offline Installation as the following screenshot from Windows Defender shows (although I am not sure why it appears so many times).

 We also tried running NI Max as administrator, but got the same message.

 

Any suggestions on what we should to do to configure the 9100 port or some other port?

I also had this same problem. I had everything NI on a work laptop, I tried everything to fix it. I uninstalled everything NI and reinstalled it and still nothing worked. I got around this by using a personal laptop (which is the original device I used to configure my NI device) to install NI MAX to add new software to my NI device, I had no problems with that. You might be able to use NI Package Manager to install 'System Configuration' to see if that helps or try using NI Package Manager to 'Repair' NI Max. I am also suspicious that whatever device (laptop/PC) you used to configure the NI Device ( PXIe-8822) is the only device that allows you to Add/Remove software on said NI device. It is very annoying and very NI.
