Output to mV source using fluke 726

Solved!
Go to solution

I was recently handed a VI that controls the inputs into a fluke 726.  The VI is simple but I've run into some simple Questions on how to change a few things.  My fluke 726 is sourcing out millivolts to thermocouples for testing purposes.  The VI that I have has a conversion of my input number into volts and then sourcing with the fluke in volts out to the thermocouple.  The reading that I receive in volts is to imprecise.  I need the number to be sent out and read in millivolts for a more precise calibration.  The driver that i have on labview for the fluke 726 was already built into the VI and it has a selection for "Output - Volts DC"  but nothing for millivolts.

It doesn't have mV unit because of 726 command set itself. You may need to check with Fluke on this issue.

Thank you, after I posted this yesterday, I went into the driver cases and made a new one for the case that I wanted it to do.  I knew that the 726 would source mV, but I didn't know if you could tell it to with labview given that it wasn't in the driver.  A simple manipulation of a mirrored voltage case led me to find out that you can tell it what to do as long as you have the right command prompt to talk to the fluke.(found the command prompt on flukes website.)

Thanks again for your help, and yes speaking to someone at fluke probably would have led me down the correct path.
