I am contemplating using a PXI-1033 system with a COTS rack mount 1U PC.
After reading PXI-1033 manual and then checking on your website, I am a little concerned about purchasing a system without knowing if the PCI express slot in the 1U host would work with the PXI-1033 card.
From the PXI-1033 manual "Note: The BIOS or motherboard may not support the NI PCIe host card in a slot intended for a graphics card."
The company that I am considering getting the 1U Rack mount PC from is Advantech. The system is based around the following components:
Base System: SYS-1U1320-4A01
Motherboard: LGA775 Core™2 Quad/Duo Industrial ATX MB with Intel® Q965/FSB1066/Dual Gigabit LAN
CPU: Intel® Core™2 Duo E6400 processor LGA775 2.13GHz/2MB L2 cache 1066MHz
PCI Express Riser Card options:
Either
1) 1U Riser Card - PCIe x4 to 1 PCIe x4
OR
2) 1U Riser Card - PCIe x16 to 1 PCIe x16
Operating system Windows XP Professional SP3 embedded
The line from Advantech's page that gave me pause when matched with the PXI-1033 Note about PCIe graphic card slots is the following: "Support PCI Express x16/x4 interface for VGA "
Is there a way to know if this system will be compatible?
Have you tested any of the Advantech PCIe systems with the PXI-1033 or MXI Express systems?
I do have the option of going with Windows Vista Business SP1 DSP, but don't have any experience with LabVIEW and Vista, and I am leary...

Hi Ryan,
I can't find anything here that indicates a compatibility issue but it also appears that the Advantech search isn't working so I can't view a manual for this. This is not something fully tested or verified but we have seen some computers with dedicated PCIe ports for video not working with MXI. From the main page for the rack mount, it refers to the PCIe x4 slot for use with an expansion card which from my point of view reads as a multipurpose slot, not dedicated solely for VGA.
