PXI 1042 and PXI 8187 initial connection with host PC

Hi,

I have some fundamental questions regarding basic configuration and connection settings after unpacking.

1. chassis 1042 with (pxi controller 8187 and pxi card ) is not detected in host pc 

i am trying lan cable with cross connections and straight connections . but both cases i cannot see any indication of connection.

2. host pc has LV14, MAX 14, 

3. i tried from MAX -> devices and interfaces-> identify as --> 8187 (identified but not .... pxisys.ini etc)

4. is there any way to check connection of host pc with controller.

5. should I create new connection in host PC or it will work when I plug in the LAN cable

hey DMic,

Check the Device manager in windows and see if it shows up there

make sure you have the driver for the pxi chassis and controller

have you checked the installation guide for that PXI?
