PXI-4072 -- How to change external cal date?

Hi, folks.

I've downloaded and reviewed all the documents I can find on the PXI-4072 FlexDMM, but can find no reference to how one can change / edit the external calibration date that's stored somewhere in the instrument.

Anyone have more of a clue than I do?  Where is this information stored?  How can I edit / change it?  Can I edit this through NI-MAX?

Thanks for any help...

Nic,

If you take a look at the MAX help under Measurement & Automation Explorer Help >>Calibration>>Calibration Information>>External Calibration, you will find that the external calibration date is stored in a protected memory location. This date is automatically changed when an official external calibration is performed. This cannot be changed by a user so that the record cannot be modified.

Hi Kyle...ty so much for your response.

I work with a calibration laboratory...that's the reason I asked.  There's no reference in the calibration procedure that I downloaded to either changing the cal date manually or automatically.  The manual refers to partial calibration...when all the functions of the unit are not used, so it's permissable to calibrate only those functions that are actually used.  But even here, there's no mention of what criteria in a partial calibration will actually cause the cal date to change...or how to set it manually if it doesn't change itself.

Can you point me to some documents that actually detail this out?  Maybe using an external computer talking through a GPIB link and controller...specific sets of commands to set up certain functions, and the exact circumstances (i.e., after which functions are calibrated) that will cause that cal date to change...or how we can change it manually?

If you follow the Calibration Procedure step by step, the date will change automatically. There isn't another way to set the date since it is intentionally protected to make sure it correlates to a true calibration.
