PXI-8360 not recognised in MAX, Ressource-conflict

Hi,

this driver is not listed in software-list. I have read about this conflict before in knowledge base but I couldn't find this 8310-entry.

I appreciate your help.

Dahun,

The Cardbus-8310 driver isn't part of the "National Instruments Software" entry in Add/Remove programs.  It's a separate entry in main list.  This issue could be caused by another driver, though.

Have you installed drivers for another company's expansion products, such as Mobility or Magma?  Uninstall those drivers if they're present.

Let me know what you find.

I deinstalled all driver concerning similar function. Still the same-the yellow mark remains on the PCI Bridge entry.
I will try to contact NI for this issue as well.

Thanks

Hi I have the same sort of issue - Device manager giving me a "Lack of resource error code 12", I tried all the suggestions made by NI (BIOS Update, 8310 driver uninstall) , but I still had no luck. After being up to early hours I came across this fix on the Microsoft Website :-

My System -

Toshiba Satellite L300D - Vista SP1

Labview 8.6 - Third Quater Disc Set

NI PXI1042 (8 Slot Rack)

NI MXi Express Card 8360 and PXI 8360

Main Issue

This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12),

This issue may occur because of the initial state of the PCI Express bridge device in the expansion chassis. By default, when you start or reset PCI Express bridge devices, the initial values of the limit register for the bridge resource window are less than the initial values of the base register for the bridge resource window. Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 interpret this behavior as an indication that the bridge resource window is disabled. Additionally, Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 do not generate any bridge resource window requirements for the PCI Express bridge device. Therefore, any PCI Express bridge device that requires resources from the bridge resource window will fail enumeration. In this situation, a Code 12 error is generated.

This issue may occur if the operating system runs out of Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) bus numbers. Typically, the computer BIOS configures a limited bus-number range for PCI Express bridge devices. When an expansion chassis that contains a PCI Express complex switch together with a deep device hierarchy is added to the computer, the operating system runs out of available bus numbers. Therefore, the system cannot start devices in the expansion chassis.

Fix

  1. Click Start

, type regedit in the Start Search box, and then click regedit in the Programs list.

If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or click Continue.
  2. Locate the following registry subkey, and then click it:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\PnP\Pci
  3. If the HackFlags registry entry is not present, follow these steps:
  4. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD (32-bit) Value.
  5. Type HackFlags, and then press ENTER.
  6. On the Edit menu, click Modify.
  7. In the Value data box, type 600, click Hexadecimal in the Base area, and then click OK.
  8. Exit Registry Editor.
  9. If the HackFlags registry entry is present, follow these steps:
  10. Right-click HackFlags, and then click Modify.
  11. In the Value data box, type 600, click Hexadecimal in the Base area, and then click OK.
  12. Exit Registry Editor.

After a a few seconds my devices were recongnised and I could see them in MAX

On a related note, National Instruments offers MXI Express BIOS Compatibility software, which helps circumvent these kind of limitations. Please refer to the following:
