Every year I get the privilege of calibrating all of our hardware.
I do a simple calibration where I inject 5 vdc and verify using measurement automation for every AO Channel
I had a problem this time around the software rev on my Labtop for measurement automation (8.8) does not match that of the PXI (8.6)
Im really hopeing i dont need to unistall and reinstall at a lower version. maybe i can update the PXI?
Thanks in advance for suggestions.

Hi auerdoan,
Are you referring to the version of the NI-DAQmx drivers that have on your computers? NI-DAQmx is currently up to release 9.4 while Measurement and Automation Explore is at version 5.0. If you are not sure which version you have you can check by opening Measurement and Automation Explorer and then selecting the Help and then About. A window will appear and in the lower left hand corner you will see a version number. Each version of the NI-DAQmx drivers are associated with a specific version of Measurement and Automation Explorer. The following link describes what versions are associated.

If you would like to upgrade the PXI controller to version 8.8 of the DAQmx drivers then you can download it from the following link.
http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/1085/lang/en
This will install version 8.8 of DAQmx along with version 4.5 of Measurement and Automation Explorer. Please let me know if this was helpful.

Hi auerdoan,
It looks like you have an 8184 controller in the PXI chassis. Is that correct? What operating system do you have on the controller? You have two options.
The first would be to download the drivers and then put them onto a USB memory stick. You could then transfer the driver to the 8184 controller. The drivers are .exe files so you should be able to simply run the executable when you transfer the files from the USB stick.
The second option would be to remote into your controller. After you remote in you could go to the site I referred you to and download the drivers and then run the executable. This option assumes that you are connected to the controller via a network and have internet access.
Let me know if you have any questions or run into any problems.
