PXIe-6738 current limit

Solved!
Go to solution

Hello everyone,

does the PXIe-6738 card have an overcurrent limit at 10mA or does the current need to be limited by me?
What needs to be considered, or what problems can occur with an overload?

There is no overcurrent limit described in the spec it is best to limit it externally.

From experience, these channels survived short to GND for a couple of hours.

Thank you for your reply.

So a charging of a MOSFET gate should not be a problem (apart from the fact that it takes a few microseconds)?

That should be fine, add a series resistor for safety, but why an AO to MOSFET gate? trying to characterize Vgs?

Yes a series resistor should be no problem. I want to measure the threshold voltage.

Fair enough, all the best!
