Hello Everyone,
i am currently working on the 6683h Card( to be precise Timing Module for Synchronization).
Situation: I am able to follow up the ptp synchronization using 6683h module.... ie. GM-->Master-->Slave
Approach: i am trying to work on 802.1 AS Protocol (gptp) using same 6683h module.
Question: Is the card able to provide gptp(802.1 AS) synchronization, since gptp has some requirements and i am not sure if the card fulfills it. ?
if yes, could anyone suggest me a solution to above approach if the card is capable of 802.1 AS,
Looking forward for the Community Discussions and Interaction.
Thank You everyone in Advance.

Hi there,
The 6683H doesn't support 802.1 AS natively. You may be able to use additional hardware to bridge the 6683H's 1558 to a TSN (802.1 AS network), though.
I found the following KB that speaks to this a little bit.

Hi Captain_K,
Just Like PTP, is it possible to run gPTP on RT Linux without 6683h ie. By specifying an ethernet intereface as master(in Linux Terminal Window) further connected to slave sensor ?
Well in this case I am trying to avoid TSN !
Any Suggestions/ideas/Solutions/Approaches are welcome.
I thank You in Advance. 🙂
