Hello bmann2000,

Based on additional testing in the office, and with R&D in the US, it is confirmed that the PXI-5154 is expected to respond Digital Triggers, such as the PXI_Trig lines with the order of nanoseconds of jitter as you have recorded, when sampling at 1GS/s.  The EXT TRIG has a shorter path to act as a reference trigger.

When purely looking at the pulses on a Scope or Digitizer, the arrival of triggers may seem to have jitter.  However, when working on an application where synchronization is required, additional tools, such as NI-TClk, P2P scripting, and NI-Sync, have been developed and are included in all Modular Instrument drivers.  These PXI technologies arm and trigger cards in a manner where the individual line trigger of the physical pulse plays less of a role.
