pxi-1073 recognition problem

Hello,

I have purchased a PXI-1073 Chassis and a PXI-2567 relay driver module. I installed the drivers for both and everything worked fine. The only problem is that if the chassis was turned off when the computer is on, the computer wouldnt recognize the chassis after it is turned back on again. The only way I could get the computer to recognize the chassis is to first turn on the chassis, then restart the computer. This is problematic because I run VI that conduct experiments lasting up to 2000hrs and if the computer need to be restarted everytime the chassis was turned off, then it would interrupt the experiment. I have read over the manual and looked at all the settings that I can find but unable to figure out how to fix this problem. Is there a setting somewhere that can fix this problem? or is this the way the chassis was designed to be? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Max

MaxXx,

This is the way the chassis had to be designed.  Because PCI/PCIe devices are enumerated at POST a reboot of the chassis will cause the computer not to pass through this detection again until it is rebooted.  This is a good reason to get a controller for your PXI chassis.

OK thanks Jason. I wish I knew this before purchasing the chassis, then I would have order a larger chassis capable of supporting a controller. I guess I'll just get a dedicated computer to run the 2000hrs experiment. Thank you again.
