Compliance Testing

Hi,

   I've the following query,

                        If a company comes out of a product will compliance testing be done for all the products or only for one product in that category?

                        To put the same question in other words,

                        Will nokia be performing compliance test for all the NOKIA1100 handsets or only one NOKIA1100 will undergo this compliance testing?

Hello,
Full compliance testing for a standards body, such as to obtain a CE certification, would not be done on every single unit produced on a MFG line. The process is detailed and can take a good amount of time, as well as requiring special eqpt. The additional cost this would add to a product's direct labor and overhead COGS would be far too great.

However, the methodology a company uses to ensure units being produced are still meeting some certification requirement is in-house knowledge and to speculate on any specific company would be guesswork anyway.
