Hello Moralofa,

The is not a developed driver for this instrument, there are other models that may be compatible with some of the functionality (see this link).
As an alternative, you can measure RF signal level using the <link no longer exists>. This instrument is a vector RF signal analyzer (up to 2.7 GHz) that will help you take as many RF measurements as you need.
To take the GPS coordinates, you can use a third party USB/serial external device that sends already standard MNEA text, you can use this example program to read it.
Hope this helps,

Thanks for you help

We will receive a MS8911A instrument and LAbVIEW 8.2 next week . This analyzer support DVB-H and DVB-T standard. So we are going to measure on the field the signal RF level, MER, C/N using this instrument and the corresponding GPS coordinate with GPS. So this is why I need the LabView driver to develop a VI that can get this parameters from the test field. I'll appreciate if you can help me to develop this VI in order to do this measurement on the field....

Thanks

You would be better off posting to the instrument I/O board instead of the one for NI RF devices. Repost there and ask if anyone has developed a driver. You should also ask Anritsu if they have any sort of driver. If you get no response, the Instrument Driver Network has some links that could help. There is one where you can request a driver. NI does driver development based on demand so it would help to make a request there. There are also links on how to develop your own driver. It's not really all that hard and 8.2 makes it even easier. If you don't need a full driver, you've also got the Instrument I/O Assistant. Lastly, there has been example code posted on communicating with GPS receivers. You should search the forums for 'GPS' and if you have problems post that and mention the make and model of receiver.

Hi Moralofa,

As long as it is MNEA protocol, then yes. Some of those devices it have it by default. The specifications of the device will also tell you how much accuracy you should expect (yes, sometimes it is less than 10 m).
Remember this is the RF forum and probably is not seen by many other customers that have more experience on this field.
Hope this information helps,

Hi,

Do you know any GPS receiver model already works with labview inorder to get the coordinates from the VI already developped.
I need to buy the GPS medel that give 10m precision. So you can give the GPS referecne.

Thanks

Hi,

I received the Garmin GPS. I'm using USB I get the nmea_gps.zipnmea_gps.zip from your link. So know I need VI ready to read position, time.

I'm using Lv 8.2

Thanks
