What is the Adjacent Channel Power Ratio performance of the PXI-5661

Hi All,

Has anybody had experience with measuring ACP for a signal of 16kHz BW at 25kHz offset, with the PXI-5661?

My customer wants to confirm the PXI-5661's ACP performance before he commits to purchasing.

Also,

How would you estimate the ACP performance of an Analyser for any given channel spacing and bandwidth.

Cheers

Tim

Hi Tim,

We are running some tests on the 5661 for you to see what ACP we are getting on our end in order to post some results. We will be using the 5661 to acquire the data and the ACP vi from the Spectral Measurement Toolkit to analyze the results. Did you have a specific carrier frequency in mind?

Hi Steve

Thats fantastic thank you!!!

The frequencies of interest would be:

175MHz

512MHz

1000MHz

Cheers

Hi Tim,

In order to be able to successfully test ACP with the 5661, we need to know the carrier frequency, channel properties ( BW ) and properties of the adjacent channels ( BW, separation from channel of interest and carrier frequency).

I'm assuming that the frequencies you supplied 175 MHz, 512MHz and 1000MHz, are your carrier frequencies.

Can you please verify the other info?

Hi Tim,

Attached is a spread sheet containing the measurements I have taken at the different center frequencies.

I generated an FM modulated signal with 16KHz BW  at different power levels. And I measured the ACP.

It is worth mentioning that cable I was using was introducing some attenuation.

Hope that will help.

Best Regards,

Faris A

The excel spreadsheet sems to have power column mislabled. The Adjacent channel power is probably dBc and not dBm as labeled in the spreadsheet. Can you confirm?

All units are in dBm.

Tim ,

I took a look at the spreadsheet. I forgot to add the device attenuation to the adjacent channel power. I will post those numbers again.

Sorry for the confusion.
