Yes, that should be possible. You will need to ensure that you have Real-Time 17.0 installed on your host PC.
When you are installing the software/drivers to the PXI via NI-MAX, you should get the option to choose which version of Real-Time to install. You will likely need to match (or ensure compatibility) the version of Real-Time on the PXI, to the version installed on your development PC though.
