FPGA digital output possibly not driving

Experts,

In the following code, is there any chance that the digital output corresponding with Phase A only does not respond properly, and only very intermittently?

FPGA Digital Output.png

I am 100% sure that the code is correctly placing a T to the Phase A boolean when it should be. Is there any way the FPGA node could fail to output it properly to the actual port pin? (i.e. electrically?), and then corrects iteslf a bit later in time?

We are not able to actually measure at the port pin, only downstream after some custom circuitry, and my gut feel

tells me the FPGA is working properly and its the custom hardware downstream that is the culprit, but I cannot be 100% sure.

The FPGA drives into an optocoupler.

Any ideas?

EDIT: the FPGA board is a PCI-7813R

I wouldn't think so. FPGA has been really reliable when programming, but I couldn't guarantee for the circuitory of the board.

I would be very, very surprised indeed if the FPGA code or RIO board was the problem, but I still have to investigate all possibilities.

Hi nrp,

Your code is completely correct and it's very very unlikely to be a fault with the FPGA. Chances are it is your custom hardware.
