I am trying to get a project "running" again after a migration to a new computer (Windows 7) with a new LV version. First we installed LV2009 on the computer until we realized, that the cFP-2020 we are using is no longer supported by this RT-Module (which is pretty annoying - I agree with all being heavily frustrated by this).
So we installed also LV+RT 8.5.1 on this system and tried to open and use the old project (which worked before with 8.2).
We had several issues which could be solved (e.g. wrong settings in the build-specifications) but one remains:
When I try to build the RT part of the software I get the following error message:
Visit the Request Support page at ni.com/ask to learn more about resolving this problem. Use the following information as a reference: Error 8 occurred at Invoke Node in AB_RTEXE.lvclass:Build.vi->AB_Engine_Build.vi->AB_Build_Invoke.vi->AB_Build_Invoke.vi.ProxyCaller Possible reason(s): LabVIEW: File permission error. You do not have the correct permissions for the file. ========================= NI-488: DMA hardware error detected. Method Name: Build:Application
This is strange because I can run the RT-program with Front Panel open on the Windows machine without a problem. Maybe it has to do with different behaviour of Windows 7 regarding file permissions? We have local admin
rights with the user we are working with.

OK, meanwhile after trying several different security settings for various fileseven giving "full control"for all users to LV.exe does not solve the problem.(previous message was wrong I accidentially started LV2009 this succesfully builds the RTexe but using the wrong RT version).

Hi Olaf,
what is your build directory?
Try c:\build or something similar that short.
Also check those 2 links:
Error 8 With Application Builder When I Create an Executable in LabVIEW 8.5/8.5.1
Why do I get "Error 8 Occurred at Open File" When Writing to or Reading From a File?
Let me know if that works.
