I am a grad student that has been tasked with modernizing some neglected testing equipment. The system runs on a CompactRIO 9082 and the last time it was used was 2015. Most of the documentation has been lost since then. On top of that the daq is password protected, which I don't have. Nor can I get. I am currently unable to communicate with the CompactRIO due to an outdated real-time module version (version 2014). I understand that I can reformat the daq in order to reset the password but I don't know what files or the FPGA that is uploaded currently.
What options do I have?
Is there a way to work around the need for a password?
Is it possible to flash the daq drive to a portable drive and analysis the data that way?
Thanks

Jiangliang,
I have already looked into resetting the CRIO. But resetting the device will erase any existing programs on the daq. I would like to be able to salvage these VIs if possible.
