Problem configuring IP address on 9012

Hello

I am having problems upgrading a 9012 controller.  Upgrading the 9012 is part of an upgrade from Labview 2009 SP1 to Labview 2011.  When I reformatted the disk using Labview 2011, it came back with an IP address of 0.0.0.0 (normal) and no name.  When I use Max (V5) to try and set the IP address I get a message stating that the hardware is either powered off or not connected to the network (see attachment).  I've tried reformatting the device and using the "IP Reset" switch as described in the 9012 manual all to no avail.

There is also a 9024 on the same network that upgraded with no problem.

Any help on how to get an IP address on the 9012 would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

SB

Hi SteveB1,

Often times, an error like this is caused by a firewall issue.  Based on this article, we can open some ports to try getting this to work.

MAX Hardware Identification:

-UDP 44525

Web Monitoring and Configuration:

-UDP 5353, TCP 52725, TCP 3580

Ensure that you open this ports in all avenues -- Windows firewall, antivirus, etc.

Hello Steve,

Can you walk through this troubleshooting document on ni.com/gettingstarted? I think for your case one of the things you may want to lead off with is the part in setting the system to DHCP that states that you need to make sure all of your dip switches are in the off state. If they are all in the off state, I would flip them all in the on state and immediately switch them back to the off state, this will ensure that they are making a solid off connection.

The link that I wanted to point you to was the following: https://www.ni.com/en/support/security/configuring-software-and-hardware-firewalls-to-support-nation...

It seemed that when I linked it, I had http://http//zone.ni.com instead
