Trigger on each cycle of continouus waveform generation

Using an E-Series or 671X board for continuous waveform generation, is it possible to externally trigger each cycle ? The external start trigger serves to begin the generation which then continues indefinitely. I would like to have the generation stop after the end of each cycle and wait again for another external trigger before outputting the next cycle.

Optionally, the 671X boards can output a Waveform Trigger on their PFI7/WFTRIG pin when they start generation. Can that outout trigger signal be made to happen on each cycle rather than just the first one when the overall generation began ?

With some additional programming of the counters on the E series card you could setup such an operation. Basically you would configure a counter for a retriggerable pulse train generation. This repeating out would then be used as an external update clock for the waveform generation.
