Why can't traces be removed from a DSM historical trend chart

In the Distributed System Manager you can add multiple channels one by one to a historical trend chart, but there does not seem to be anyway to remove them.   It is easy, when trying to correlate data trends to overcrowd a display and at that point you must create a new hostorical trend with your prefered traces added.   Am I missing something here?

Hi,

Can you please post a screenshot of your DSM with the historical trend you are viewing? In addition, by channels do you mean tags or variables that are bound to tags? The historical trend window basically displays like a play and stop window and you can move over the graph but cannot alter anything in the data. Please let me know if I am missing something.

Just try it yourself, go to the DSM, open up a historical chart and add a few channels of data (already aquired and stored in the database).

Now try to remove one of the channels from the chart.  You can hide it but you cannot remove it.  A hidden channel still counts

against the limit of the number of channel you can have visible on a chart so it is not a effective replacement for a remove function.

Also, if you can, please try to find out what group is responsible for the DSM and/or hypertrend chart.  This is a very important strategic

tool for NI and I do not think it is getting the proper exposure and feedback.

Hi,

You are right. I have tried your suggestion. However, I will explore it a little more to see if there is any setting I am missing for deleting channels.
