So we were using the cRIO-9068 measuring sensor signals with the NI 9223 and NI 9233.
We had also a dc power supply with voltage 0-5V that we used to test some of our programming.
We were just working on writing the TDMS files on a USB stick, using the USB port on the cRIO when we noticed the ethernet port getting hot. When we wanted to pull the ethernet cable there was a spark and the cRIO turned off.
The measurements still work somehow but the ethernet port with the cable gets hot and there is a burning smell.
I guess we shorted something in the cRIO but we are not sure what the reason is. Any idea what could have caused it?
In the image the power LED is correctly green for V1. But now its yellow even though we don't use V2 but V1

Is your ethernet cable shielded?
