Hi,

Thanks for contacting National Instruments.  It sounds like you are trying to tune your system so that you are controlling with the PID toolkit.  When tuning with PID you have the option of selecting using Auto tune or tuning manually.  How are you tuning your system?  If you are doing this manually typically the way to do it is by trial and error.  This is done similarly to tuning a servo motor (part three discusses how this is done manually).  Since every system is unique it is impossible for us to know what your particular gains should be.  But there are several ways for finding the appropriate gains for your system in the PID user manual (see page 25).  All of these methods are iterative, and will require you testing several different values with trial and error.  Let me know if you have any questions.
