real time pid won't compile

I am having trouble with my realtime app. i traced the problem down to the real-time PID function block. my build process hangs for about 10-15 minutes and then returns with an unknown error explaining that my vi is broken. i can simulate the vi on the crio target. if i diagram disable around the PID function, my app will compile very fast. is there a bug fix for this or am i over looking something fundamental about the PID function block?

Hi jeffyy,

Are you using the additional functionality that the function block gives you? (mainly the variables)

If not, you can replace it with the PID VI. Also, all of the other function blocks have their corresponding VIs on disk at <labview>\vi.lib\functionblocks\ 

Also, is this error occurring when you try to build a LabVIEW Real-Time startup executable or simple when you click run?

I wasn't aware that the PID function was the same as the in the PID toolkit. Anyway i tried them both and can't get the realtime project to build. i can delete the PID vi and it compiles just fine. I can also simulate my realtime project.

Hello Jeff Y,

Can you please provide some information about what software versions you are using and what specific error you are seeing?  Is there a dialog you see?  Were you ever able to perform this operation?  If so, did something recently change, was new software installed, after which you saw the problem?  The more information we have, the better we will be able to help resolve this problem for you.
