1520 4472 adapter manual, part# 860643-01

Hi All,

I think this is an obsolete product now.

Can anyone give me the user manual for the same or a link where it can give me more information?

How does it connect with 1520 SCXI module?, does it require some special calbe or 68-50 pin cable along with 1349?

Also i would like to know that how this adapter can be used along with a DMM to control the SCXI.

Thanks.

Regards,

Zed

Hey zed,

Even I am facing a similar issue. If you get any information, please let me know as well. Probably someone who has used the PXI and SCXI system about 3-4 years back might have some idea about this.

Cheers,

Guru

you can connect any SCXI module capable of parallel mode operation to an NI 4472 Dynamic Signal Acquisition Board. You will need an extra DAQ device to control the SCXI Chassis and Modules, however.

In Measurement and Automation Explorer, add your SCXI chassis under NI-DAQmx Devices.
In the SCXI Chassis Configuration, select the Chassis tab and select your DAQ device as the Chassis Communicator (if using a combination chassis, install the DAQ devices in the right-most slot and select "Using PXI Backplane" as the SCXI Communication Path).
Select the Modules tab and click the Details... button next to a parallel capable module.
In the Cabling tab select the appropriate 4472 as the connected device and the Module Digitizer. Also, select Parallel as the Digitization Mode.
Repeat for each SCXI/4472 combination

Note: If using a PXI/SCXI combination chassis, it must be either a PXI-1010 or a PXI-1050 which provide access to the SCXI backplane.

Dear Shreyas,

my system configuration are as describe below :

SCXI-1000 chassis: Slot :1 to 4 :SCXI-1125, Back side Connector of SCXI-1125-1 to 4 is 1520.

PXI-1042 Chassis : Slot-1 to 4 : NI PXI-4472, Slot -8 -NI PXI 4070 -DMM module to control SCXI module.

I have connected DMM module to 1520 by using Aux cable to control SCXI module.

My problem is that I am not able to configure system In Measurement and Automation Explorer,

In the SCXI Chassis Configuration, Chassis tab and I can select DMM-4070 as a Chassis Communicator. In the Cabling tab i ahve selected 4472 as the connected device and the Module Digitizer. Also, select Parallel as the Digitization Mode.
still it is showing some error..
