Buffered DI from SCXI-1162HV using DAQ PXIe-6361

Hello, good morning

Is it possible to make a Hardware-Timed acquisition from a SCXI-1162HV in serial mode with a DAQ MIO PXIe-6361? I tried all C examples but none of them worked. It seemed to me that in serial mode the only way for DI acquisition from a SCXI-1162HV, using a DAQ PXIe-6361 is using the On Demand (timing) mode. Is it correct?

Hey Cmnap002,

Unfortunately it is not possible to do Hardware Timed DIO with your PXIe-6361 and your SCXI-1162HV. 

According to the specifications for the PXIe-6361, it has 8 Hardware Timed Inputs (1 Port) up to 10MHz. But a combination of PXIe-6361 and SCXI-1162HV will not allow you to do what you want.

I found a tutorial showing how to do buffered digital input for isolated or high-voltage applications . NI 6533 or NI 6534 device (Digital IO Boards) can be used with 1162HV to do HW Timed DI.
