Configuring SCC-68 within MAX

Hi,

I've just downloaded NI-DAQmx 8.3 as I understood it provided support for the SCC-68 module carrier. Although it is now an option within Create New NI-DAQmx Device it does not give me any options for the Cabled Device (the list box is greyed out and only has None as an option). It also generates an error of:
"No digitizer is available. Please add a digitizer before configuring your SCC Connector block."

I've tried to Create the SCC-68 first without the simulated device having the SCC-68 as an accessory and then with. It does not appear to have any affect.

I've previously configured an SC-2345 using my simulated devices (PCIe-6251) without any problems using version 8.0.

Is this a bug within NI-DAQ or am I doing something wrong?

Carl.

Hi,

an assumption has been made that if you're trying to create a real scc-68 then you would have a real MIO card to work with. If you don't have a real MIO board in the PC at that time, then you can create a simulated MIO board, but that will only allow you to create a SIMULATED scc-68, and not specify a real one.

If I might ask - what are you trying to acheive? A configuration file to pass to others with the scc-68 preconfigured, but you're working without the hardware at this time?

You can add the scc-68 from NI-DAQmx 8.1 although that wasn't included in the Readme as new supported devices, but it does make a reference to it a little lower down

Hope that helps

Hi Sacha,

Thanks for the reply, problem was user and not software! I was trying to set up a real hardware with a simulated device hence the problem.

Basically I'm configuring the setup and creating the software on a laptop so I can't use a real M-Series card, however the final application will be using a real PCIe-6251 with a real SCC-68.

Many thanks for your help,

Carl.
