Max/Min input range smaller than it should, how do I change?

I am trying to look at a Sine Wave with values ranging from -2.5 to 2.5, when I go into the DAQ assist in LabView 7.0, chose Analog Input/Voltage and then the corresponding channel. When I try and set my voltage range and close out the dialog box, I get an error saying that my max/min voltage has to be between +/- 0.005 Volts. I have tried changing the jumper settings in my SCXI-1121 module and that left me in the same place as before. Since then I have changed the jumper settings back to factory default. Please give me guidance.

Hello SonobondRay,

Thank you for contacting National Instruments. What gain settings did you try when you changed the jumpers? For the SCXI 1121 module, analog inputs ranging from +/- 2.5 mV to +/- 5 V can be accurately read.

The higher gain settings are needed for use of smaller input values. That is, a gain of 2000 (100 in the first stage and 20 in the second) will yield an input range of 2.5 mV. Therefore, the lowest gain, 1, is needed for an input range of +/- 5 V. To do this, the first and second stage gain jumpers must each be set to a gain of 1.

Information on which jumpers to use for each input, as well as what positions they should be set to, can be found on page 24 or the SCXI 1121 User Manual, located below:

SCXI 1121 User Manual

Take a look at this document and try those jumper settings. If you have any additional questions, or if you have already tried those settings, let me know.
