SCXI1200 not shown in create new list

Hello,

I am trying to re-install SCXI 1000 chassis with a 1200 board. I do not show a scxi-1200 from the create new list. I can install a 1000 chassis, but when I try to install the 1200 from there is does not allow me. This is Labview 6.1

Thanks,
Steve

Just to close the loop . . .

Ayman in tech support was able to answer this. Even though it was win2k, basically I had to add the 1200 from Add Windows Hardware in the Control Panel. (I was led to believe you only did that in Win98.)

Hello Steve,

Please follow the steps in this KB: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/334BA1D8691AD25486256539004CC1A8?OpenDocument

What version of NI-DAQ are you using? Also, what OS are you using? The SCXI-1200 is not supported past NI-DAQ 6.9.3, and only on Windows 95/98/2000/NT.

I hope this helps,

Sean C.

I am also having this problem with the scxi-1200. Can the earlier version of ni-dag be used with labview 7?

Hi Mike,

As Sean pointed out the NI-DAQ 6.9 is the last version NI-DAQ that supported the 1200.

Labview 7 provides Traditional NI-DAQ for some older equipment, but the 1200 will not work with the Traditional NI-DAQ.

So if you have a 1200, basically you should upgrade to a 1600 for use with Labview 7 is what I have been led to understand. (I'm still using Labview 6.1 w/win2k, but also upgraded to 7.1 and bought a 1600 and will upgrade my app when I get the chance.)

Hope that's clear 😉

Hi Mike,

You actually can use NI-DAQ 6.9.3 with LabVIEW 7.x. Please see the following Knowledge Base for instructions on how to install this.

Sorry, I scrambled that particular combination. Is it that the 1600 won't work with NI-DAQ 6.9.3?

Hi Steve,

That's correct. The SCXI-1600 is not supported until NI-DAQ 7.2, and then only in DAQmx.
