V8.5 step in SignalExpress 2011

Hi all

I recently got a Tektronix PWS4602 power supply. I have already installed LabView & Signal Express 2011. I also installed "Run LabView 8.5 VI Step Support Kit". Now i installed the Signal Express step for PWS4000 V2.0.0 from Tektronix, which works perfectly with Tektronix Edition V2.5.1 of SignalExpress. But it does not work with the 2011 Edition. In the add step menu, there is no entry for the PWS4000 step. I guess this is so because the step was created for LabView 8.5. That's why i installed the "Run LabView 8.5 VI Step Support Kit". But this did not help (under add step - execute LabView VI i can choose from V8.6 upwards only, which is a bit confusing to me).

What could be the way to solve this? Any ideas?

Thanks for your help,

Genki

Hi,

I tried installing the 8.5 SSK on my machine with similar results to yours. Apparently this is, because the 8.5 SSK is only for executing Projects containing LV 8.5 steps that were created in previous Versions of Signal Express. I suggest you try to open the VIs you want to use in LabVIEW 2011 and save them to a new location. Then you do a mass compile (Tools >> Mass compile) selecting the flder, you saved the new VIs to.

You should be able to use those VIs in Signal express 2011 (please check if they're working after the mass compile)

Please let me know if you need further assitance or if the issue has been solved.

Best regards,

After some more research, I found out that the step you are referring to is only supported in Tek Edition of Signal Express. This can be seen in the release notes. Therefore what you are trying to do is not supported directly by national instruments. The steps made available by Tektronix explicitly for SignalExpress Tek Edition are not tested in newer versions of SignalExpress. For best results, abide by the documentation Tektronix puts out on the download pages for their device-specific steps.

Since this is not supported by NI, I would suggest you use the Tek Edition of Signal Express if you can.
