I have a large data set (>1 million points). I'm want to give the raw data for part of this log to my customer.
I've created a subset in SignalExpress. I can drag the resulting subset onto a chart and view it OK, so I don't think there's a problem with the subset itself.
However, I can't export the data from the subset using the export options available by righ-clicking in the logs pane. Using the XLS export I get an error message "no data to export" and nothing happens. If I try the ASCII export the action reports that it has completed OK but the .txt file it creates contains the header but no data points.
I've created a smaller sample of data and performed the same steps and I get the same results, i.e. I don't seem to be able to export data from a log subset.
Can anyone help?

Forgot to mention I'm using SignalExpress 3.0.0 and I've tried 2 PCs both running Win XP Pro.

Hi Mike,
I have been able to capture a sample from SignalExpress 3.0, log it, right-click the log in the pane (as shown in attached image) , and successfully export to ASCII file which I have attached.
Is this the method you are using? Have you tried plotting the data on the graph, and then right-clicking the graph then selecting Export To>>Microsoft Excel/Clipboard(text)?

Steve,
I can export data from a 'full' log using the method you described and everything works fine.
However, if I create a log subset the try and export data that's when I have the problems.
So, I do:
1.) Highlight a log from the logs pane
2.) Right-click and choose "Create log subset"
3.) Select an appropriate portion of my 'full' log
4.) A new log named "xxxxxx - subset" is created and appears in the logs pane
5.) Highlight the new subset log in the logs pane.
6.) Right-click and choose "Export to ...."
If I choose ASCII the exported file only contains a header, no data. If I choose Excel I get a dialogue box - "No data to export".

Hi Mike,
Thanks for that clarification, I am nowable to observe the issue as you are.
There is a workaround in that you can create the subset, export to ASCII file (so that you generate the headers) and you can copy the data and paste it into the ASCII file by doing the following.
1. Drag the subset onto the graph in the Data View tab
2. Right click on the signal displayed in the graph
3. Select Export To»Clipboard(Text)
4. Open the ASCII file originally created, then paste the information under the Data header.
I will now have a look into whether this has been reported as a bug, (and if not, will go ahead and do so) so that there may be a fix in a future release of Signal Express.
Best Regards,
Steve

I'm having the same problem. Is there a solution for this problem yet?
Problem:
Right click on top of a logged signal. Click on "Export to Excel", popup says: "No Data to Export"
If I click on "Export to ASCII file" then an empty text file is created.

Unfortunately this issue is a known bug that has been fixed in the latest release, Signal Express 2009.
