Re: Keyboard Shortcuts: CTRL-Space then CTRL-D

If on the following Block Diagram you select the Add node and then perform a CTRL-Space followed by a CTRL-D.   What operation will LabVIEW (2009 onwards) perform?

 Keyboard Shortcuts #1.png

a) LabVIEW will delete the Add node and maintain the wire between the Subtract and Multiplication nodes

b) LabVIEW will delete all nodes with incomplete input wiring

c) LabVIEW will create a Constant (containing 0) and automatically wire it to the unwired terminal of the Add node

d) LabVIEW will create a Control and automatically wire it to the unwired terminal of the Add node

D ( by experiment )
A and B were (probberly) not correct becos with multiple inputs ( of differend type ) LV will not know what to do as a general function. it only inplementing it for a small set of functions is not logical. C and D seems ok. Test tel me it is D

D

A would be CTRL+R

C would be CTRL+SHIFT+D

Nice one GM, finding the question subtext.

Well, it helps that Quick Drop is one of my favorite features.  I was really happy when I started using 2011 because I could start using some of these shortcuts (exclusively using 8.6 and earlier before).  Now I live by some of them.  I even made my own plugin to fix up my VIs (I can be very OCD with some things).

As someone who started LabVIEWing before such cool features; I have to overcome muscle memory to use Quick Drop...wish I was better at it.

I`m not getting it should I select any option for that.

You select the addition node.  Then press Ctrl+Space.  This will open up Quick Drop.  You can then press Ctrl+D to get the new controls.  You have to be in LabVIEW 2009 or newer.  But I'm not totally sure if Ctrl+D was available in 2009.
