Two roboRIOs Not Working

Solved!
Go to solution

Both of our roboRIOs went down this season and we finished with a borrowed one.  The issues we are having are:

roboRIO #1

Model: roboRIO 1.0

Issue: PWM 6V Rail is down and reads 0V on voltmeter on all PWM 6V pins.  All 5V and 3.3V pins read normal on all other ports.  Power light stays red.

roboRIO #2

Model: roboRIO 2.0

Issue: 5V Rail is down and reads 0V on voltmeter on all DIO, ANALOG IN, MXP, and SPI 5V pins.  All 6V and 3.3V pins read normal on all other ports.  Power light stays red.

Actions

We have blown out all ports, as well as opened up and blown out the inside of each roboRIO and have ensured there is no debris causing the issue.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can try or how we can go about getting them repaired if possible.

Thank you,

Please disregard as we found the problem with both roboRIOs.  We found metal pieces hiding under some of the bases at the bottom of the pins in a couple of ports that were shorting out the rails.  We did not see them earlier.
