Problem when upgrading firmware for USRP-2932

Greetings, 

I'm trying to get two NI USRP-2932's working in MATLAB/UHD, but any attempt to interact with either of them results in an error about incompatible firmware versions, inciting me to upgrade the firmware. I get a similar error every time I try to initialize the devices in Python using UHD or try to use the LabVIEW examples.

I tried to use the NI-USRP Configuration Utility per the described directions in this help article. However, even though the GUI claims the  programming process has succeeded, after rebooting the device the version incompatibility warning still persists as if nothing happened.I am using the images labeled ni292x because they were automatically chosen by the GUI, but I also tried to flash the n210 images to no avail.

I should also note that I am having trouble also setting the IP address for the USRP, when I boot the device in the factory-default IP address mode and choose my own IP address, I get a similar GUI message about the IP change being successful, this however is not the case at all and the IP is still not set correctly (I am not aware of the real IP address of this unit, hence why I went through this step).
