When going to setting>options>extensions>dataplugins clicking on a dataplugin and clicking the Properties... button gives me an error.
I get the error
Error while executing "SUDDlgShow" command
Error type: Access Violation
Error Address: 0007c2ca
Module Name: gusiex.ocx
Clicking OK gives me another error displaying script code
I've uninstalled/repaired/reinstalled several times and can't get this error to go away.

Hi Jedeckert,
I've never had a customer report that problem before. What version of DIAdem are you using? Is this the only version of DIAdem you've installed on that computer? Did this ever work, or has it failed on your first ever attempt? If it did work once, what has happened to this computer between then and now?
Have you installed LabVIEW on that computer before? If you have LabVIEW 2012 or later, can you pop up the DataPlugin selection dialog from there?

This is a new install with DIAdem 2012 SP1 downloaded within the last 30 days from your site running in evaluation mode.
There has never been another version of DIAdem on this laptop.

I can't give an honest answer here because I don't remember. It only failed in the last couple of days (that I noticed) and has been used since 12/17/2013. I could go back to a restore point, but I've installed

no
I'm trying this today, and am now getting the same error when I try to create a new plugin using the "create dataplugin..." button in the same dialog box. I know this worked before or I wouldn't have been able to create plugins. the import dataplugin button works.
Are there some kind of registry keys or files on the computer which I can clean out after an uninstall (or prior to a repair) to make sure a reinstall is completely new?
Do you have any idea what/where the suddlgshow that the error is generating is refering to? Maybe I can check the permissions on that folder, maybe they are set to read only or something.
Thanks,

I do have a SudDlg.g5d file located in National Instruments\DIAdem 2012. Do you have a similar file located on your computer?

yes a 1k file.

I know you have tried a reinstall, but I'd like to see what happens after a forced reinstall. Sometimes, this will fix issues that a regular reinstall does not catch. Instructions to perform this can be found here: http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/ADD22E807D5A12AD862579EC00760F79

forced reinstall done twice and still same problem.

Hi Jedeckert,
do you also receive the error if you select a C++ DataPlugin, like TDM or TDMS, and click the Properties... button?
If you can display the properties for C++ or VBCrypt DataPlugins, could you please check whether the file EasyPluginConfigurator.ocx in your <nishared>/USI/bin folder exists? (for a default installation <nishared> is C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\Shared\)
Thanks

yes EasyPluginConfigurator.ocx is there. The error only occurs when changing properties for my own plugins which are all VBS, and also when I click the "Create Plugin..." button. I'm thinking a screen shot of the second error dialog box might help you. I've attached the two error msgs which display when I click the "Create Plugin..." button. Once I click OK to the second error, DIAdem stops working and closes.

Do you have another computer that has DIAdem that you could test this on? Verify that you can create a data plug-in. If you can, try loading that new data plug-in into your original computer. Also, if it works and you can create a data plug-in, I wonder if if you can try to load in the data plug-in that is not working.
