E-List

Ben a écrit: ...Bad code is any code that does not perform its intended function.
Everything else is just a different shade of grey. The "E-List" is a shade of grey that is vey close to the Property Saver.

Hmm... Should I consider that this is an attempt to make me feel more comfortable with my awefull coding style ? May be I should come back with a better E-List version, I mean one with less than 100 flaws, instead of the 500 and over terrible mistakes that Ben detected ?
Don't know if I'll have enough time left in my poor frog life to improve my code and reach ultimately Ben's standards...
Ah... Ah... What a terrible pain....

Ben a écrit: Is the threshold still 50 answers? It seems the smallest # of contributions is now 60.

Where did you get that from ?  I have been digging everywhere during the past 6 hours (almost... :D) and I didn't find anything close to that.

Are you sure you are using the right numerical base system (10 base versus base 12...) ?

It is probably the "true replies" that has me confused.

I just sorted your e-list based on "NI Contributions" and the smallest number was 60.

Sorry for the confusion.

Ben... Ben... Ben...

What are we gonna do with you???
The poor little froggy is crying his heart out..  We may have to send Kermit, or better yet, Miss. P.  to comfort him.

CC,

Hope you're feeling better..  See what happens when code gets complicated???
You should stick with the original format.  And let people create their own "E-List" interpreter..  😉
KISS principle..  wait... this would have an entire different meaning in France.  😮

(PS... tu peux toujours creer une version "ours" pour notre ami. )
😄

E-LIST issue n°42

Still in a hurry. No much comments. The top 3 leaders (DK, Altenbach and Ben are increasing their activity (nearly twice their average score) while the others are declining. Tst is close to extinction. JPD was absent, and so was Mike Porter. I made a short effort to avoid sinking to the List bottom.

Is that a busy period for everybody ?

Since the first E-List release (n°37), the number of active Enthusiasts, on a week basis, has been 124 (n°37), 95, 91, 115, 116 (this week). Since there are 99 idle members, that means that only one third of the Enthusiasts are active. I wonder about the turnover rate...

Hmmm, just wondering ... How does the forum round the "average rating" to 1 decimal digit?

Example: DK has a 4.69 which shows up as 4.7 (rounded up). I have a 4.87 which shows up as 4.8 (truncated).

This is a great day..

I think I just grabbed all of JP's stars..

😄

Alten, you're special.. that's why the value is rounded down.

BTW, your icon is on the edu website.  It prevents me from doing a reply on your post...  Could not download your avatar..

And THANKS CC!  You're doing a fantastic job!

Nice E-List.

Huh? Why not? Why do you need to download an avatar in order to reply to a post?

it won't give me a curser in the "Message Body" box until "oldman3.gif" downloads.  My browser timesout.

Strange...  maybe your icon is blocked by this ISP.  😉

But there are other ways to reply...  😄

I don't see your avatar, today.... strange..

The second decimal digit in the E-List average ratings is obtained by calculating a weighted average of the stars received, while the NI average is apparently an unweighted average.

To make things clear, just in case our math-impaired bear is lurking around, if you get a post with 3 5-star ratings and one with one single star, I'm afraid that your average will be 3 stars ((5+1)/2) only, instead of 4 ((5x3+1)/4). Accordingly the E-List score should be slightly better since the occurence of multiple 5s ratings is higher than 1s ratings.
