Thank you for contacting National Instruments.
Both 2 and 8 flashes on the status LED indicates a problem with your firmware. Try updating your firmware to fix this problem. To do this in MAX, select your FieldPoint Bank under Remote Systems and click on the Firmware Tab at the bottom of the screen. Then browse to your firmware (it should default you to C:\Program Files\National Instruments\FieldPoint\Firmware\Ethernet\FP-2020, or something similar) and click on Upload.
