how can I save data NI sfp

Solved!
Go to solution
HI:

I have purchased an NI USB-5132 digitizer and I am using it with NI scope SFP. This software let me save data (a waveform), but I can´t recovery or load it. Reading into the forum I Think that it´s necessary install Fgen SFP, so, I downloaded it from the NI site.

Now, when I run Fgen, it says:

"..The FGEN did not detect an NI signal source module. Open MAX , verify module installation , and then click Rescan. To emule..... click simulate...."

In fact, I want to save data waveform and then load it using an easy way.

I will appreciate your replies!

          Hi Arielmedina61

Which format are you saving your data?
Which software are you using to this file?

I will be waiting for these informations

HI, Napoleao

Thanks for your reply.

I am using .hws format for save data.

I am  using the NI-scope SOFT FRONT PANEL ( V 2.9)and NI FGEN (2.6) for play back data.(See the error reported)

I could use every soft that you advise me. I only need save and load a waveform on the screen.

Thank you again (or Obrigado)

It sounds like your problem is not saving the data, but reading it back.  What do you want to do with it when you read it back?  There are several options for reading it:

  1. The NI-SCOPE Soft Front Panel will read the waveforms as a reference channel. You can use this to verify that it saved correctly.
  2. You can read the data from LabVIEW using the NI-HWS subVIs and Express VIs which installed with NI-SCOPE and NI-FGEN.  This is useful for further analysis.
  3. You can read and modify the data with the NI Analog Waveform Editor.  This is useful if you plan to create test waveforms.
  4. You can read the data with any program which reads HDF5, since HWS is based on HDF5.  This is useful if you have analysis code in an analysis package such as Mathematica.  Let us know if you would like to go this route so we can tell you what the file format is (or search these forums, the info is already posted).
Let us know what you would like to do with the saved data and we can point you in the right direction.

In the NI-SCOPE Soft Front Panel, select File->Load Reference...  You will get a dialog to select your file and then which part of the file you wish to load.  This will not set the configuration, unless you saved that, as well, when you saved the file.

When you save a file from the NI-SCOPE Soft Front Panel in NI-HWS format, there is an option to save the configuration, as well.  This allows you to restore the application to the settings that were used to take the data.  Similarly, if you save a configuration, you also have the option to save any reference channels you may have loaded.
