Can't create .PNF file from .INF file

Hello;

I'm new to Labview, I trying to develop USB drivers using VISA as per the below link..!

http://www.ni.com/white-paper/4478/en; I'm working on the windows 7 OS.

The issue is....: I could create the .INF as directed in web page above; I could not see the .PNF file getting created after right clicking the on the .INF file and select install option..

I don't know whether problem is with OS or the .INF file...

I doubt the OS because It caused me a lot of problems to arrive this point...!

Can any one help me on this Issue...

Thanks in advance...!

Balu...!

Is the USB device something you've designed where you are sure of the parameters?

I don't understand why you want to use your own driver and not use the Vision software that is available. You have chosen a difficult path. Why?

OK.. Let me put it in this way.. My intention is to interface RX62N board with the Labview (in HMI mode) , but as I'm new to Labview; I just thought of implementing the example given by NI( below);interfacing a webcam

 http://www.ni.com/white-paper/4478/en#toc2

Yes, You are right I may use the drivers provided by the Logitech, but once I start working with the board which is having with my own code and then if I have a communication problem; I may have to doubt my code or the process I followed to connect to the LabView.

To avoid that conduction I would like to connect the webcam first as per the process given by NI and then proceed with my board..?

That process is not the method recommended by NI. That USB driver nonsense only applies when you have access to the very low level protocol. Do you know what you would even write to the camera? What NI recommends is their Vision software. There is even a dedicated forum for it.

Yes.. You are right, I don't know What to do with the cam once it is connected;

But do I need to follow the same procedure (as mentioned in the above link) to connect my RX62N board to PC using Labview..?

If I'm heading in the wrong direction; can you share some information that will help in to proceed in right direction..!

What is the forum you are talking about..?

Thanks..!

The Machine Vision board. The NI software is called IMAQ. You'll need to check if your camera is supported.

Thank you for the information;

I think my questions are misguiding you..! my intention is to create a interface using NI VISA USB RAW.

And for that, as per the above mentioned link, i would like to take it as a tutorial and go-throug/complete all the steps mentioned over there.

I don't have any further interest in proceeding with USB Camera interface rather getting acquainted to USB RAW communication through NI VISA.

So, the place i am getting stucked is while creating .PNF file from .INF file.

So, please suggest me or help me in understanding what are the possible reasons for not generating the .PNF file.

 I can understand that at this point of time i am not looking at a very broader picture of my project and trying to implementsomething which is there on web. I am aware that i may have to face more problems when i proceed with my board...

I also referred one of your suggestions to refer NUGGET...link below for your ref...

http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Nugget-1-of-n-GEtting-started-with-USB-communication-via-VISA/m-p/74....

Can you please help me  in creating the .PNF file....

Thanks for your time and help....

So, you really don't want to get your camera working with LabVIEW.

Delete all of the windows drivers related to cameras and see if that works.
